Does this feel familiar? You want to:

  • Have clinically viable options for responding in treatment to your client's horrifying stories of religious trauma.
  • Manage your own religious trauma while also treating similar issues in your patients.
  • Be informed on new groups forming and how we can be a part of a collective that helps this community.
  • Help clients stop asking themselves “how did I get here?” And start staying “I’ll never have to go back here again”

You just need a place to get education & support with other therapists that are trauma-informed and committed to helping survivors.

Everything changed for me when I got access to helpful resources to support my own growth as a religious trauma therapist.

Therapists aren't often taught how to be trauma-informed.

And we definitely aren't taught how to deal with specific trauma like religious trauma and cult abuse.

The therapists I know have a hard time finding good trainings for religious trauma and cult recovery.

And even when we find a good training, they don't get ongoing support and monthly consultation

We need help but we don't know where to find it...until now.

Meet your teacher

Hi, I'm Dr. Quincee

I am a clinical psychologist that specializes in religious trauma. I've helped my clients understand their experiences and leave their culty groups with dignity and self-understanding.

But before I specialized in helping others get out of these toxic environments and communities, I was surviving my own religious trauma.

coercive-control-training
therapist-training-religious-trauma

I grew up in a really toxic religious group...

I lived through fear-mongering and unending messages about hell.

I was guilt-tripped for having normal human experiences.

I was terrified to lose every relationship that was important to me.

I felt like something was wrong with me for having questions.

I was isolated from the outside world.

When I broke free of the guilt, shame, and fear, I needed support from people who knew what it was like to be a part of a group like this.

That's why this membership means so much to me.

You are needed.

I cannot tell you the number of clients that have tried to find a religious trauma specialist for YEARS. We need more specialists out there helping survivors get their lives back. Here's why you're needed.

33%

Did you know 33% of U.S. adults have experienced religious trauma at some point in their lives?

3 Million

Some experts estimate that at least 3 million people living right now have been a part of a cult.

Here's the problem...

Cult groups do a real number on your clients.

  • The amount of emotional manipulation and coercive mind control that happens is unbelievable.
  • Their religious trauma is working against us in the therapy room because they've been taught not to trust mental health practitioners.
  • Their rigid religions taught them to distrust themselves, their feelings and outsiders.
  • Most are coming to therapy because they have nowhere else to go, but they still aren't convinced that you can help them.
cult-abuse-therapist-training

I'm here to change that.

Here's the thing:

Cult and religious groups manipulate your clients and scare them away from getting the support they need.

I'm here to teach you how to address this in therapy.

Support your clients in refreshing and knowledgable ways.

Save yourself hours from scouring Instagram or Tiktok trying to piece together ways to help your clients.

I'm saying "yes" to education

Think about it this way...

What happens when you start to feel informed about religious trauma?

  • Imagine walking into therapy sessions feeling knowledgeable, supported, and excited to help your religious and cult trauma clients work through their incredibly abusive experiences.
  • Imagine your practice growing client by client, and feeling fully capable of actually helping those with religious trauma
  • Imagine getting to know therapists from all over the U.S. and Canada that want to help trauma survivors in the same way as you. You can start to lean on them, learn from them, and create a powerful therapeutic community.

  • Imagine having a curated experience where someone else is doing all the hard work of organizing all of the materials you need to learn to feel competent in this work.
  • Imagine pouring yourself a cup of coffee and cozying up with our virtual consultation group and just feeling the support that you've been needing this whole time.

Here's what our students say about the tools they learned

Still not sure?

Here's what our students say about the membership

Kari, Licensed Therapist

I'm really grateful to have a community of therapists passionate about religious trauma recovery! I thought I was alone for so long.

Erin, Licensed Social Worker

I'm learning a lot and I appreciate all the work you are doing :) I've been needing a program like this for so long.

You might say "I don't know if this is for me. I don't have religious trauma clients yet"

Other therapists felt the same, but discovered that they needed training first before they felt like they could grow their practice.

Stephanie, Licensed Therapists

I've found that I needed to feel competent in treating religious trauma before I felt like I could advertise that as my specialty.  I've gotten referrals from Dr. Quincee and feel like my training has been exceptional.  It has totally changed my confidence in sitting with my clients.

Aaron, Therapist in Training

I have not received enough trauma specific training in my program.  I was so relieved to see this training included a specialization in religious trauma & cult abuse and also focused on the practical ways to treat posttraumatic symptoms.  I cannot recommend this enough.  I'm already creating a specialty while working on my license.

Kiera, Licensed Therapist

I cannot recommend this training program enough.  It walked me through everything that I've always wondered about religious trauma, but never really knew how to articulate it. I've used the lessons on indoctrination over and over again with my clients. This is course work that you won't regret doing.

You might be asking "How is religious trauma different than other kinds of trauma?"

Our students have asked the same question and they discovered that understanding group dynamics from a cult education lens was a gamechanger.

Emma, Therapist

If you are a therapist that joins the chorus of people that say "How do people get involved in groups like that?" then this training is for you.  You'll learn how indoctrination works and how it's very different from other kinds of trauma.  It's helpful to have a foundation in trauma training, but it's not necessary.  Dr. Quincee includes a whole bonus course on trauma basics and I was shocked at how much I learned in just the bonus course alone.

Lauren, Licensed Therapist

I was unsure how this course was going to different from the rest of my trauma training, but boy was I wrong.  I learned so many important lessons about coercive control, emotional manipulation, thought reform, and so much more.  If you feel like you've already learned a lot in other trauma trainings, this one will take it to the next level with very specific theory, research and lessons on cult and religious trauma recovery.

You might be wondering "What is the most helpful part of this program?"

Each student has taken different lessons away, and here are some of the highlights.

Erin, Licensed Therapist

I'm happy to see an emphasis for nervous system regulation. Our nervous systems can get caught in flight, fight, freeze, or fawn response. My biggest take away was hearing about fawn response. I feel like this one isn't talked about a lot. Fawn is also a form of people pleasing. A way to stay safe in your family unit or religion is to make sure the needs of the people around you are taken care of.

Denise, Licensed Therapist

I have learned so much about assessing each of my clients for the severity and impact of their religious trauma or cult group experience.  I have personally reached out to Dr. Quincee for extra resources or consultation on difficult cases that feel confusing and overwhelming.  I have loved being a part of this program and continue to show up to the monthly consultation group with excitement.

You don't have to white-knuckle it through trauma cases any longer.
